Ethos
The Kairos Project believes in the equality and inherent dignity of all human beings. We believe that the only solution to the Holy Land’s conflict is one that respects and promotes the security and human rights of Israelis and Palestinians as well as the vibrancy and viability of the Holy Land’s Jewish, Christian, and Muslim faith communities. Thus, the Kairos Project sees itself as pro-Israeli, pro-Palestinian, pro-American, and pro-peace.

The Kairos Project also believes that religion, which has long been used as a force to divide the peoples of the Holy Land, need not be part of the problem. Instead, it must be part of the solution. The vast majority of people in the Holy Land, and interested parties beyond, view the conflict through the prism of their faith. Only a solution that takes the perspectives of these communities into account can realistically hope to transform the Holy Land into an exemplar of peaceful coexistence.

The Kairos Project seeks only to educate Americans about the full panoply of faith and political perspectives in the Holy Land. It does not seek to promote or impose any policies or beliefs on the Holy Land’s peoples. Only Israelis and Palestinians can ultimately decide their own futures.

Yet, inasmuch as the Holy Land is of deep significance to people of faith the world over--and thus to regional and global security--the Kairos Project does support the two-state solution, the resolution almost universally recognized and accepted, in principle, by the international community and the parties to the conflict itself.
